The shops listed below are all located within or just outside the city of Delaware (less than a 10-minute drive from the OWU campus). For a truly unique shopping experience, visit historic downtown Delaware. A brief walk will take you past shops where you can paint your own pottery, buy handmade chocolates, buy a gift for your four-legged friend, get a unique baby gift, pick up some running shoes, or take music lessons. After you’ve shopped, it’s time for a bite to eat. From the landmark Bun’s restaurant to Hoggy’s acclaimed barbecue to scrumptious pizzas from Amato’s Woodfired Pizza to Central Ohio’s best fish’n’chips at the Old Bag of Nails, there’s something here to tantalize everyone’s taste buds. After dinner, you could take in a movie at the Historic Strand Theatre. One of the oldest continuously running movie houses in the nation, the Strand shows first-run movies on three screens. Shopping Beyond Delaware… Less than 20 minutes from the OWU campus, Polaris Fashion Place is an upscale shopping experience. Its anchor stores include Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, and The Great Indoors, while its specialty shops range from Ann Taylor Loft, Coach, and J. Crew to Brookstone and The Bombay Company. The diverse Polaris food court includes by Starbucks, California Pizza Kitchen, Lindey’s, and Molly Woo’s. Although it’s a 40-minute drive away, Easton Town Center provides one of the region’s most unusual shopping experiences. Based on an indoor/outdoor town square theme, its retail shops include Williams-Sonoma, Nordstrom, Talbot’s, Apple Computer, Restoration Hardware, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Sharper Image, Pottery Barn, Eddie Bauer, Barnes & Noble, Gap, Anthropolgie, and Victoria’s Secret. Easton’s eclectic restaurants include Brio Tuscan Grille, Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s Chinese Bistro, and Ocean Club (a Cameron Mitchell establishment), as well as two comedy clubs and a 30-screen AMC cinema.
