![]() Welcome LOCATED IN ONE of the nation’s fastest-growing counties, Delaware, Ohio, still holds on to its hometown feel. Towering maple trees, historic homes, and a mix of shops and restaurants make Delaware a pleasant place to visit and experience, whether you’re searching out antiques, taking in a movie, or looking for a great meal. And downtown Delaware is just steps from campus. Walking to everything is easy. Once a year in the fall, all eyes are on Delaware. The city bursts at the seams with visitors. It’s time for one of the nation’s premier sports events: The Little Brown Jug. The “Jug” is the country’s most prestigious race for three-year-old pacers and the second leg of pacing’s Triple Crown. More people make the journey to this race than to any other harness race in the United States. The Ohio Wesleyan campus itself is host to more than 100 lectures and performances each year. From art openings at the Ross Museum to readings by renowned authors to Shakespeare at Chappelear Drama Center to the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra at Gray Chapel, there’s always something appealing to do at OWU. Events are open to the public at nominal cost. Or sometimes at no cost. And don’t forget. Delaware is only 20 miles from Columbus, the state’s capital city. The 15th-largest city in the United States, Columbus offers myriad cultural, entertainment, and shopping experiences for every taste and budget. A charming small town. A nearby urban center. Ohio Wesleyan students truly have the best of both worlds. |
